Depict Production Diary

Friday 18th

Today we had to make our storyboard for our video, it ended up consisting of 23 different  shots, to begin with we didn't really have a narrative, but Sean gaves us te idea of having a disco scene, which we then elaborated on this idea and came up with our story, this one does contain speech as to give it  bit of shape, the story is about a hand person called Mandy and another called Andy, it's the story of these two meeting at a disco. But there is Mandy's boyfriend Dave, who splits them up when there dancing together, Andy then leaves but Mandy catches up with him and explains that she doesn't like Dave. Then the camera zooms out, and its just us sitting round a table and then someone else walks inand asks us what we're doing, to give it a comedic twist. We also started all the paperwork that we need to finish next lesson.

Monday 21st

Today we found the music, and sorted out whose getting what props and where from and typed up our script and finished all the paperwork. We are now ready to film.


Wednesday 23rd

Today we started film, we filmed a few of our shots that we are going to use, but we weren't able to film much more as we needed Ellie for our video. So when we come back from the holiday we will be able to finish filming and then we can start on the editing process.

Monday the 4th

So today we ran in to quite a few problems when it came to making our video, first of all Ed wasn't here today so that meant that we couldn't film certain shots. But we made do with what we had and we went out and filmed the shots from he scene just after I'd left the disco. But overall that lesson wasn't the most productive.

Tuesday the 5th

Today Ed was back so that meant that we could really get our heads down and work this video out, as we had everyone we needed we went through all of our shots and made sure that we were able to take them all.
But that took the whole lesson so yet again we hadn't got any further.

Wednesday the 6th

Today we started filming the disco scene which involved me, Ed and Ellie, but unfortunatly Ellie wasn't available to shoot this lesson so instead we decided to get on with all the other shots that we could do, just so we could keep as on top of things as we could. We managed to finish film the majority of our shots.

Thursday+Friday the 7th and 8th

These to days we edited together what we had and made sure the continuity was all correct, as we did this we saw a few mistakes that we'ed made and decided on going out and filming some of our shots again, but if they were something really quite hard to spot then we decided to leave them be. We also worked the music for our video, we were able to get hold of some un-copyrighted tracks which we used for our video so as to avoid having to contact anyone for the rights to use their music in our video.

Monday the 11th

Today we were able to have Ellie for the hour so we could finish filming our video. She helped us work out what we could change to make the video better and if there were any errors then she'd point then out. When we'd finished filming we started on our final edit.
