News analysis

Title sequence

In the BBC News title sequence the first thing that happens is loud music bursts in connoting a sense of emergency. The whole sequence is entirely made of computer graphics, the only colours use are white and red. In this sense of red it means for you to stop and watch. Constantly through out this sequence capital city names are being thrown around the screen which connotes the fact that they are giving coverage from all over the world. The aforementioned red is in big circles that cover a lot of the screen and towards the end of the title sequence the world appears in the middle of them and as these circles are hollow we can see the world so we know we are getting the full picture as we can see straight through the circles. The music throughout this sequence is very busy, it contains a mixture of orchestra and electronic music, the orchestra part of it contains drums and strings and the electronic part is a constant beeping noise, this connotes the count down of time to the news and in turn that means that they're on time.
